Act in this order

  1. Block the card or payment access

    Use your bank's official app, website or verified helpline to block the debit card, credit card, UPI ID or net-banking access involved.

  2. Ask the bank to secure the account

    Report the unauthorised activity and ask whether the account or UPI channel should be frozen. Note the time and the bank's reference number.

  3. Call 1930 immediately

    If money has left the account, call the national cybercrime helpline as soon as possible. Speed can improve the chance of stopping the transfer.

  4. File the official complaint

    Complete the complaint at cybercrime.gov.in and keep screenshots, transaction IDs and messages as evidence. Do not post those identifiers publicly.

  5. Reset access safely

    From a trusted device, change net-banking passwords and UPI PINs. Remove unknown devices or beneficiaries and continue monitoring the account.

  • You remain in control: follow the bank's official blocking process and verify any number against the bank's official website or mobile app.
